In this centenary year marking 100 years since the end of the Great War, it’s an honour for AluK to be able to support the efforts of our Senior Product Market Manager, David Prout to create a fitting and inspirational tribute.
Dave aimed to raise £10,000 for the Royal British Legion by asking businesses and organisations like ourselves to sponsor one of 100 poppies which have been placed on the Full Fathom Five sculpture in Portishead, Bristol.
He's successfully secured sponsorship for 100 of the 100 poppies placed on the individual granite columns which make up the contemporary sculpture. These will stay in place until 18 November, looking out to sea, honouring all those heroes who gave their lives.
The names of all of the supporters are being displayed on a Roll of Honour at the sculpture, online via The Royal British Legion’s Portishead Branch and in the local press.
