Chepstow based AluK is reassuring customers that it is very much business as usual, despite the ‘Firebreak’ lockdown announced yesterday by the Welsh government.
With construction currently not listed within the non-essential category, AluK is able to remain open and continue its production and warehousing operations, in line with all the Covid-19 secure working protocols which have been in place and working extremely well since the factory reopened in April.
Managing Director Justin Hunter commented: “We will continue to monitor and follow the guidance provided by the UK and Welsh Government. At this moment time, there is no interruption to supply, and orders and deliveries will continue as normal. All of our non-production staff are already working from home, so our sales, finance and customer service departments will be unaffected.
“The only significant change is that any non-essential customer, third-party or supplier visits to the Chepstow site will be postponed or held via video link to minimise contact and travel.”
