Why the AluK 58BW window system offers customers the ultimate in flexibility

Why the AluK 58BW window system offers customers the ultimate in flexibility

AluK’s tested, tried and trusted 58BW window system remains one of the most popular mainstream aluminium window systems available in the UK. PAS24 accredited and Part L compliant with HI variants available for optimum thermal performance, it’s easy to fabricate and has built a deserved reputation for quality, reliability and performance. But the key strength of the 58BW is the sheer versatility and flexibility of the system – and the opportunities that unlocks for our customers across a range of sectors.

This single window platform supports multiple sales conversations for AluK fabricators with trade, retail and commercial customers and enables them to broaden their customer base, without complicating their product offering.

There are now such a vast range of personalisation options for the 58BW that it has effectively become a bespoke aluminium window solution, albeit with the price tag and lead times of a standard one.

When it comes to configurating the 58BW, it can be a top hung or a side hung casement, it can be bottom hung inward opening, tilt and turn, pivot, bay or even French, in sizes up to 1750mm wide x 2500mm high. In terms of style, customers can choose chamfered, ovolo or flush sash, and there is a double bead option to eliminate the need for a dummy sash.

For replacement, direct fix or new build applications, the 58BW is available in both 58mm and 70mm outerframe depths. And, for Heritage applications, there is a slim 58BW ST version available which can replicate original steel windows. That means there are options for domestic replacement, new build apartments, Grand Designs type properties, traditionally styled cottages and retail and commercial offices – all of which can be fabricated using the same core set of profiles.

This flexibility allows installers to tailor each installation to the practical and design needs of the customer, and it makes it easier to upsell design-led solutions rather than competing purely on price

And for fabricators, the benefits are just as compelling. Using a single, proven window system like the 58BW across multiple project types simplifies stock management, training, and production processes. Over time, fabrication teams become so familiar with the system that it can improve factory efficiency and consistency – helping to reduce waste, minimise errors, and improve lead times – all of which support healthier margins and stronger relationships with trade customers.

There is the vast colour choice you would expect from AluK of course, with our own in-house vertical paint and finishing line. Lead times are between 5 and 10 days for options within AluK’s curated Colour Collection or customers can choose any RAL colour in a matt, textured or anodised finish.

I would argue that there are very few aluminium window systems in the UK which can offer anything like the flexibility of the 58BW. It gives our fabricators and installers the freedom they need to be agile in a competitive market. Its ability to adapt to different styles, ages of property, and customer requirements makes it more than just a window system - it’s a platform for growth.
