This could be a tough year ahead for the whole of the windows and doors market.

Despite rising inflation and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, there is still a sense of cautious optimism in the aluminium sector, buoyed by the fact that demand remains relatively strong at the higher end of the market.

It might be more than two months since the rules changed on Part L of the Building Regs, but AluK says there is still a real hunger for knowledge and information at the sharp end of the industry.

As the whole industry should be aware by now, the revised Building Regs Approved Document L (ADL) came into force on 15 June, setting new notional and limiting U-Values for windows and doors in both new build and replacement settings.
