58BW Flush HI

Lincolnshire

Tradeglaze recently secured approval to install AluK’s 58BW HI flush sash windows and a suited 58BD French door in a Lincolnshire conservation area barn conversion. The project combined energy efficiency, modern design, and traditional aesthetics, meeting both homeowner and conservation officer requirements.

Tradeglaze Win Approval For Aluk’s Flush Sashes In Lincolnshire Conservation Area

Every traditional stone-built property presents challenges when it comes to designing and installing new windows, but these are obviously amplified when the property is within a conservation area.

While the homeowner might be prioritising thermal efficiency and reduced maintenance, the conservation officer will invariably be focused on retaining the detail and design of the original frames.

That was certainly the case recently in a historic barn conversion in rural Lincolnshire where AluK fabricator Tradeglaze designed and installed replacement windows in AluK’s 58BW HI flush casement system as well as a suited 58BD French door.

The owners of the 3600 sq ft luxury property wanted windows which were warmer, easier to maintain and sleeker than the painted timber originals, but the conservation officer had to be convinced that the design of the AluK 58BW HI aluminium frames they preferred replicated those originals closely enough to preserve the character of the house.

Tradeglaze supported the owners throughout the project. Jonathan Brewer, Head of Sales commented, “Our team is dedicated to delivering an unparalleled customer experience, ensuring that each project is tailored to meet the unique needs of the homeowner. From the initial design consultation to the final stages of installation and after-care, we work closely with our customers to ensure their vision is brought to life. On this particular project, we focused on finding a glazing solution that would not only enhance the energy efficiency of the home but also preserve and elevate its historic character. We provided detailed guidance on material choices, design considerations, and energy-saving benefits, helping the homeowners make informed decisions that resulted in a beautiful and functional upgrade to their property.”
The owners are understandably delighted with the result. The AluK 58BW HI flush windows have the slim sightlines they wanted for a more contemporary look, while the flush sashes still complement the traditional aesthetic of the barn conversion. They are also benefiting from the enhanced thermal performance, durability, and almost zero maintenance requirements which characterise aluminium frames.

In total, 28 AluK 58BW HI windows and a 58BD French door have been installed, all in RAL7032 Pebble Grey which tones perfectly with the barn’s aged external timbers.

The installation was carried out by Tradeglaze’s retail arm Jackson Windows, with sealed units also manufactured in house at Tradeglaze’s own glass factory Allenby Glass. Tradeglaze’s reputation for quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service, coupled with an extensive portfolio of positive reviews and a growing list of local and national industry accolades continues to generate new business and support impressive growth.
