Astra Windows, based in Radcliffe, Manchester, worked with previous clients F1 Real Estate Management to fabricate and install all the windows, doors and curtain walling at the new build Botany Bay industrial park in Chorley, Lancashire.
The project includes a new-build158,000 sq ft logistics and distribution unit, with GT55 commercial doors and AluK 58BW windows installed throughout the Cat A office space, and 42,000 sq ft of flexible industrial and trade counter units which all feature GT55 entrance doors combined with SL52 curtain walling.
All of the frames were finished in anthracite grey at AluK’s state of art vertical paint line in Chepstow and all exceed the thermal and wind and weather performance requirements of the project.
The GT55 doors are a versatile solution tested, tried and trusted in shop fronts, entrances and ground floor framing. Thermally broken, they can accommodate sealed units from 6mm to 32mm and can achieve U-Values of 1.7 with double glazing and 1.5 with triple glazing.
The thermal efficiency and 100% recyclability of all the AluK frames on the project have helped the business park to achieve an EPC of A and a Bream rating of very good.
