TG Designer Homes has chosen AluK aluminium windows and doors for three high-end new builds on the south Kent coast, ensuring slim sightlines and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
AluK has once again proved to be the system of choice for new build developers, with three stunning, high end properties built by TG Designer Homes featuring slim sightline AluK aluminium windows and doors throughout.
TG Designer Homes partnered with AluK fabricator Rhino Aluminium on the design, manufacture and installation of all of the windows, doors and curtain walling, having worked successfully with them for many years on previous projects. TG’s Director Teresa Ralph commented: “We have always found Rhino to be proactive, helpful, responsive and efficient, with excellent quality, value for money products.”

The three contemporary new builds, all on the south Kent coast, were planned to make the most of both rural and sea views, so the glazing solutions were key elements in that.
West Meadow, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Dover, is a 2024 RIBA South East Award winning design with an undulating roof that mirrors the land undulation towards the rear of the plot. Rather than use a large expansion of glazing overlooking the garden and fields beyond, the architects opted to use AluK Infinium sliding doors and 58BW ST HI slim sightline windows to carefully frame the views.
Rhino Aluminium fabricated a series of large scale Infinium doors spanning up to 2.8m high x 4m wide with dummy returns for the property as well as 58BW TBT HI windows and fixed lights. They also designed and installed a structurally bonded glass link using AluK’s 58BW HI window profile and SL52 curtain walling system to connect the main house with a home office.
Teresa Ralph explained the reasons behind the choice of AluK aluminium profiles: “Our key criteria for the fenestration on all our projects are quality, performance security and aesthetics in equal measure. We can’t have one without the others, and there no room to compromise on any of them.
“We prefer the slim profiles of aluminium frames for our developments as they allow for the outside to be more accessible and actually mean that the window isn’t a barrier, but rather an invitation to the outside. We also like the fact that aluminium is available in the dark grey colours and matt finishes that we like to use, and that frames are so smooth to operate.”
